Holy Smoke was established in 2012 by artist Helen Thompson, working from her studio in Wales, Holy Smoke exhibits both in the UK and internationally.

Helen studied sculpture completing a BA Hons Fine Art at Newcastle Upon –Tyne and a MA Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, London.
Born in Wales, her father taught her to draw and sew, nurturing a passion to make and create from an early age.

Holy Smoke offers a collection of textile/paper sculptures, layering scraps of fabrics, papers over a wire framework and using a limited palette to create fragile/threadbare textures with hanging threads and raw edges, adding subtle colour with paint, clay and thread.

Imperfections illustrate the human hand through an emotive process in an attempt to represent the unique spirit, fragility and character of dogs in their diverse forms and circumstances.
