Ruth Packham 

 

Ruth is an artist/maker based in Borth, Ceredigion. She works with British wool fibre using felt making techniques. Her work is inspired by nature and particularly birds.

 

Ruth draws and sculpts with wool fibre and is endlessly enchanted by the potential of the material.

Ruth travels with her work; she has been to Oman, Kuwait, Italy, Norway, Senegal and France either to teach, exhibit, collaborate or be an artist in residence. Ruth takes part in Contemporary craft fairs and exhibits in galleries around the UK.

 

Ruth’s signature pieces are her Quirky Birds and her wet felt drawings of corvidae, although she is always working on new pieces, finding new ways to manipulate wool fibre.
