Sharon Curtis
Sharon became a full-time artist in 2012 following her graduation from Hereford College of Art. She lives in the wonderful county of Herefordshire from where she draws inspiration for her artwork.

Sharon’s early studies were in textiles where she specialised in paper, she was influenced by the Japanese techniques of Origami, Kirigami and Washi – folding, cutting and making of paper. In particular the cutting and folding of all kinds of wonderful paper into three - dimensional pieces of art. She was intrigued at the effect light had, shining through the cut shapes.
Sharon creates three dimensional artworksinspired by flora and fauna on the finest quality papers, with intricate designs that are completely cut by hand using the equivalent of a surgeon’s scalpel – no dies or lasers are used in the process. Each piece is a unique original as there will always be variances between two apparently identical pieces. Sharon creates only a very limited number of each different design.
