Giles W Clarke

 

Giles  is our graduate for this exhibition. 

 

Giles is an artist maker specialising in forged metal work. He uses his tacit knowledge of materials and the five fundamental processes within forging to experiment with sculptural forms. The forms he creates aim to evoke a childlike sense of curiosity in their playful nature. These sculptural investigations go on to influence his functional objects.

 

We are showing his bench Tentorium, which is made of mild steel, brass and Iroko, and Flow Iwhich is part of a series of sculptures using the five fundamental processes involved in the art of blacksmithing.
