Abstract Finds
21st October - 21st November

This abstract themed exhibition featured paintings by artist Stewart Macindoe, whose comment about his work is that they are the 'workings' from trying to give shape to his experience of the world for which there is no definitive answer. Peaceful lines and muted colours are their signature theme.

Steward was joined by photographer Andrew Williams who exhibited a series of handmade prints that have been taken using the most elementary form of photography: a homemade wooden box with a sheet of 5" x 4" film at one end, and a pinhole aperture at the other. They were a series taken during early mornings, in clear light and stillness.

Potter Damian Keefe was showing work from one strand of his practice which features a red clay base, a single glaze, two decorative slips and designs abstracted from natural and biological materials or phenomena rendered as dots and circles.

The exhibition included a collection of baskets made by Anna Stickland from the Swansea Valley and some glorious hand dyed shibori scarves made of a silk and bamboo fabric by Kathryn Green.

Recent Blacksmith Artist graduate, Dominic Powell, had his Pen y Fan Chair in our window alongside some contemporary furniture designed by Cardiff based furniture maker, Billy Mason Watts. We were delighted that we still had jewellery by Ali Tregaskes.
